چکیده

Honeybees are eusocial insects with close interaction their surrounding environment. Gut microbiota in honeybees play a significant role host health, biology, and behavior the Apis florea , wild bee, is most primitive among all indigenous to Indian subcontinent. Previous reports on reared honeybee species provide information gut microbiome. No such studies reported of species. This study aimed at studying microbiome species, A. . The analysis identification bacteria employing culture-based culture-independent methods. Cultured were identified characterized by MALDI-TOF MS 16S rRNA sequencing. A comprehensive non-culturable performed amplicon next-generation approach splits into four bacterial phyla, families, 10 genera major. dominant taxa belonged family Enterobacteriaceae (79.47%), Lactobacillaceae (12.75%), Oxalobacteraceae (7.45%), Nocardiaceae (0.13%). prevailing Enterobacter, Lactobacillus, Escherichia-Shigella, Massilia, Klebsiella, Citrobacter, Pantoea, Serratia, Rhodococcus Morganella genera, belonging phyla Proteobacteria, Firmicutes, Actinobacteria, Bacteroidetes. observed occurrence few that not previously for other genus, making this investigation highly relevant regard bee

Identification of Complete Repertoire of Apis florea Odorant Receptors Reveals Complex Orthologous Relationships with Apis mellifera

We developed a computational pipeline for homology based identification of the complete repertoire of olfactory receptor (OR) genes in the Asian honey bee species, Apis florea Apis florea is phylogenetically the most basal honey bee species and also the most distant sister species to the Western honey bee Apis mellifera, for which all OR genes had been identified before. Using our pipeline, we ...

Resolution and sensitivity of the eyes of the Asian honeybees Apis florea, Apis cerana and Apis dorsata.

Bees of the genus Apis are important foragers of nectar and pollen resources. Although the European honeybee, Apis mellifera, has been well studied with respect to its sensory abilities, learning behaviour and role as pollinators, much less is known about the other Apis species. We studied the anatomical spatial resolution and absolute sensitivity of the eyes of three sympatric species of Asian...

Draft Genome of Chilean Honeybee (Apis mellifera) Gut Strain Lactobacillus kunkeei MP2

Here, we report the first draft genome sequence of Lactobacillus kunkeei strain MP2, isolated from a Chilean honeybee gut. The sequenced genome has a total size of 1.58 Mb distributed into 44 contigs and 1,356 protein-coding sequences.

Resonance frequencies of honeybee (Apis mellifera) wings.

During flight, insect wings bend and twist under the influence of aerodynamic and inertial forces. We tested whether wing resonance of honeybees (Apis mellifera) matches the wingbeat frequency, against the 'stiff element' hypothesis that the wing's first longitudinal mode exceeds the wingbeat frequency. Six bees were immobilized with their right wing pair outspread, and stimulated with a shaker...

Thermal learning in the honeybee, Apis mellifera.

Honeybee foragers are exposed to thermal stimuli when collecting food outside and receiving food rewards inside the nest. In both contexts, there is an opportunity for foragers to associate warmth with food rewards. However, honeybee thermal learning is poorly understood. Using an associative learning paradigm (the proboscis extension reflex), we show that honeybees can learn to associate a nec...
